AEK Betsson BC is pleased to announce that Coach Dragan Šakota will remain on the “Queen’s” bench for the 2025–2026 season – and possibly beyond.

The coach of 3+1 titles (1 Greek Championship, 1 BCL, 1 Greek Cup as Head Coach, and 1 Intercontinental Cup as Sports Director), along with a… bronze medal – as good as a trophy – from the BCL Final Four in SUNEL Arena, will continue in his role.

The day when Coach Dragan Šakota’s (coaching) suit will be raised to the rafters of SUNEL Arena is still far away. His “Sports Director” attire will remain securely locked in his office, in the “Dragan Šakota” Suite at SUNEL Arena!

Coach Šale has decided not to change roles and is already preparing his plans as head coach for what’s to come.

The meeting on Saturday (17/05) with AEK Betsson BC’s administrative leader, Mr. Makis Angelopoulos, was mostly a formality – it simply confirmed an eternal relationship of trust that goes well beyond 2027. The “gold-sealed” collaboration between the Coach and our glorious Club and the people of AEK was, after all, signed long ago with the “blood” of his yellow-and-black heart!
