AEK started the 2025-2026 BCL campaign with a victory, defeating VEF Riga 69-53 at the Xiaomi Arena, in the opening game of Group F.
The “Queen” built a 17-point lead by halftime (24-41), with the Latvians responding in the third quarter and cutting the margin to nine (40-49 at 27’). However, AEK stayed focused on defense, quickly restored a double-digit advantage (40-53) and maintained it until the final buzzer.
Next game for Dragan Sakota’s team is on Sunday (12/10, 13:00) against Panionios at SUNEL Arena (behind closed doors), for Round 2 of the Stoiximan GBL.
