Charalampopoulos joins the “Queen”

AEK BC is pleased to announce the signing of Vassilis Charalampopoulos (28 y.o., 2.04m).

The Greek international forward signed a contract until the end of the 2025-2026 season.

BIOGRAPHY

Vassilis Charalampopoulos was born on January 6, 1997.

He took his first basketball steps with Egaleo, before moving to Panathinaikos, with whom he won four Greek Championships (2013, 2014, 2017, 2018) and four Greek Cups (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017). He then played on loan for PAOK, joined Olympiacos on a permanent deal, and later moved to Ionikos on loan from Olympiacos. His career then continued in Italy, where he played for Venezia, Fortitudo Bologna, Pesaro, and Dinamo Sassari.

In the summer of 2024, he was announced by Turk Telekom, but on October 2, in a EuroCup game against Aris, he suffered an injury that kept him sidelined for 7-8 months.

On the international stage, Charalampopoulos was a key figure in all Greece’s youth National Teams. He won the gold medal with the U16 team at the 2013 European Championship, he was part of the U18 team that won the gold medal at the European Championship in 2015, where he was also named MVP. In 2017, with the U20 national team, he once again claimed gold and earned MVP honors.
