Following recent media reports, the head coach of the “Queen”, Dragan Sakota, made the following statement:

“I want to tell our fans that I am here! In fifty-two years of my career, I have never been afraid. No circumstance has ever broken me. When a person is ‘in the heat of the moment’ over various matters, sometimes he may reach the point of wondering: ‘Maybe I should leave?’

I am here. Close to our team, close to my players, close to the people in management, close to everyone who is part of the organization.

But I also want to say something else… and I think I have the right to, after 35 years in Greece. When I finish and step down from the position I am honored to hold—because it is truly an honor to be the head coach of the most historic basketball club in Greece—I will speak. I owe it to my conscience, to my family, to AEK.
