The captain of the “Queen”, Dimitris Flionis, shared the following statement upon renewing his contract:

“I’m truly happy and grateful to remain part of this family. It’s an honor!

First and foremost, I want to thank the President, and of course all the people at AEK for their trust and constant support over the years – especially during my two injuries. These people stood by me, and it’s an honor to work alongside them.

I also want to thank my teammates and Coach, as well as all our fans for their love and support. I will continue to give everything I have so that the team can reach its goals and get back where it truly belongs – at the top! I know the upcoming season will be another big challenge, and I’m ready for it.

I thank God for allowing me – with my loved ones by my side – to keep doing what I love.”
