Newly-acquired Puerto Rican guard, Gian Clavell spoke about his transfer to the \u201cQueen\u201d:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cFirst of all, I thank God for giving me the opportunity to play for such a prestigeous club. I also want to thank AEK and its people for this opportunity. I\u2019m joining one of the biggest clubs in Greece and I\u2019m very grateful to be part of it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The international Puerto Rican guard added:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI know I\u2019m joining a good and well-balanced team. I know some of my new teammates – I\u2019ve faced them at national team level. I\u2019m excited to play alongside them. I know they expect scoring from me above all. AEK has an excellent player, Frank (Bartley). I don\u2019t know him personally, but I\u2019ve seen him play. He\u2019s a very good scorer, so it\u2019ll be great to play together. It\u2019s going to be hard for our opponents to guard us. I\u2019m looking forward to playing with Frank, as well as with the rest of my teammates.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The experienced guard \u201cintroduced himself\u201d to the AEK crowd on June 4th, 2021, as a Promitheas player at OAKA. The \u201cQueen\u201d had won 113-101, but Gian scored 45 points – and he hasn\u2019t forgotten it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cOf course I remember that game. Obviously, it was one of the best games of my career. I was really sad back then about the loss, but individually, it was one of my best performances. I think I scored 45 points. I hope I can do it again in Greece, especially now that I\u2019ll be wearing the AEK jersey,\u201d Gian said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Finally, the international guard sent a message to AEK fans:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
