Honored guest of the BCL, Coach Dragan \u0160akota received the League\u2019s award on behalf of AEK Betsson BC, as the \u201cQueen\u201d was recognized for its 10-year participation in FIBA\u2019s top club competition. The ceremony took place during the draw for the new season, currently being held in Lausanne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The Coach of AEK Betsson stated, among other things:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI\u2019m very excited when we talk about ten years of BCL and everything we achieved together. We\u2019ve been here since day one and stayed for many years because we didn\u2019t want to switch competitions – we\u2019re very happy here. We\u2019ve reached the Final Four three times, and other times we were very close. That\u2019s a success for us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Also, I believe – since I\u2019ve been part of the competition from day one \u2014 that we have supported the league quite a lot, even by talking to other teams and encouraging them to join. Many strong teams have entered the competition, and I believe that number will keep growing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We\u2019re very happy to have hosted the Final Four three times. One of them (2020) was in a difficult and emotional period due to the pandemic, but the other two were excellent – everyone was happy.
