People embrace \u201cRoute of Contribution\u201d and OPAP offers 516.809 euros for the renovation of two Children\u2019s Hospitals \u201cAghia Sophia\u201d and \u201cP. & A. Kyriacou\u201d<\/p>\n
The citizen\u2019s response to OPAP\u2019s call to take part in the \u201cRoute of Contribution\u201d it created on the occasion of the 33rd Athens Marathon was impressive. Thousands of people and runners that used the \u201cRoute of Contribution\u201d application for a second consecutive year had the opportunity to play and run, contributing through their participation to the project of renovating the country\u2019s two largest pediatric hospitals, \u201cAghia Sophia\u201d and \u201cAglaia Kyriacou\u201d.<\/p>\n
Exceeding 82.590 downloads, 516.809 euros were gathered from all the actions which OPAP automatically turned into economic aid which is only one part of the company\u2019s total investment for the renovation of the hospitals. The project OPAP implements in the framework of its Corporate Social Responsibility Program has already begun to beat fruit with the delivery, on November 4, of the first part of the project which involved the full renovation of two floors of the hospitals.<\/p>\n
For four weeks, everyone took part in the application\u2019s 9 challenges which gradually \u201cunlocked\u201d increasing the amount of the contribution. In fact, on the day of the Marathon the application users could increase the amount simply by checking-in why all visitors to OPAP\u2019s kiosk in the Sponsors\u2019 Village could also contribute through participation in the actions carried out.<\/p>\n
Mr Petr Matejovsky, Chief Marketing Officer of OPAP awarded Dimitris Theodorakakos and Demosthenes Evangelides (photo) at OPAP\u2019s kiosk, the 2nd and 3rd winners respectively of the 42 klm route. He characteristically stated:<\/p>\n
